Brent Eley Foundation: The Brent Eley Foundation is committed to supporting childhood cancer research and programs. Donn and Linda Eley established Brent's Place in 1997 in memory of their son, Brent, whose life was tragically cut short by cancer. Brent’s Place makes a difference in the lives of children with cancer by providing housing, support and access to partnerships in the community. The Denver division of John Laing Homes has supported the Brent Eley Foundation and Brent’s Place in many ways since 1999. Team members volunteered to help build Brent's Place, employees teamed together to supply turkeys and Thanksgiving meals for all of the families staying at Brent's Place over the holiday, and the division donated funds raised during the annual John Laing Homes trade partner golf tournament to the Brent Eley Foundation. Since 2001, John Laing Homes has been the presenting sponsor of the "Volley for Kids" tournament, an annual fundraiser that directly supports basic research in childhood cancer by providing an annual grant for a young investigator looking at causes and treatments for this dreaded diagnosis in young children. In addition to being a presenting sponsor of the tournament, team members from John Laing Homes volunteer their time and energy to help promote the event and volunteer on the day of the tournament. The event will be held this year on June 9th at Washington Park.
HomeAid Colorado: HomeAid Colorado creates partnerships between professional homebuilders and non-profit care providers to build or renovate quality, respectable homes for Colorado’s temporarily homeless. HomeAid Colorado gives Colorado’s temporarily homeless a second chance, giving them a home where they can restore their lives in dignity. One such example is the relationship between John Laing Homes and the Third Way Center, one of Denver’s largest and most highly respected treatment programs and shelters for troubled teens. John Laing Homes is the builder captain on the first of four facilities for Third Way Center located in Lowry in Denver. The finished project will house eight troubled youth in the Third Way Center’s program. The facility is scheduled to open this summer. Other Charities We Support
